Hello! Welcome to QUICK GLOWJOB, a quick and dirty beauty blog run by me, Nathalie, a 21-year-old college student who loves reading about skincare, talking about skincare, trying new beauty products … you get the idea.
My goal for QUICK GLOWJOB is to talk about my love for beauty and skincare, of course, but also to help others figure out what skincare products and routines work for them. A lot of the time beauty and skincare products can seem too expensive or just totally inaccessible, but there are so many options out there for you, and I can help you find them! Plus beauty and skincare don’t have to be super scientific and exclusive all the time — we can be a little cheeky too.
I know how frustrating it is to read about other people’s skincare routines and think, “Well, they’ve never had the skin problems I’ve had. You can’t fix everything with minimalist packaging and facial oils.” And I’m not saying skincare products will fix everything — sometimes you really need to talk to a doctor when you feel like nothing else is working.
For over half my life, I’ve pretty much spanned the whole spectrum of skin-related frustration and low self-esteem. I spent most of that time fighting with horrible cystic acne that wouldn’t respond to every topical acne treatment you could imagine, antibiotics, steroid injections in my face, a handful of dermatologists and aestheticians, whatever you can think of.
After a nine-month regimen of isotretinoin (a.k.a. Accutane a.k.a. the vitamin A supplement linked with liver damage, suicide, and birth defects), my skin finally cleared up, and for the last few years, I’ve been doing my best to keep it that way. I’ve gone through every phase of skincare obsession you can think of — from the dark days of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub to the celebrated 12-step Korean skincare regimen to even just the bare minimum so I could give my face a break — so I really have a lot to say when it comes to beauty products and routines.
If you’re new to skincare and want to learn more about how to make it work for you, I’ll be writing about the basics of skincare and how to get started. And if you’re an experienced skincare fan, I have lots of content for you too: product reviews, guest skincare routines, and skincare for certain moments (like the occasional airplane glowjob 😉).
A little more about my skin type: I have oily/combination skin with some hormonal acne, large pores, and acne scarring. But I still maintain that everyone can benefit from a little (or a lot of) glow.
And let me know if you’d like to talk to me about your beauty routine or if you have any product recommendations by contacting me via email!
